Travel together. Respect boundaries.

Rules and safeguards for optional community matching. The feature is part of the prepared application and released separately; signing up for beta does not automatically enable it.

Editorial review

1. Voluntary and for adults

Matching is intended for adult travellers who want to share a leg of a journey. Each trip is explicitly opted in. Before participation, you accept the code of conduct; the application also checks email verification and minimum account age.

A verified email proves neither identity nor age. Suggestions are not personal endorsements or background checks. Travelling together by rail does not automatically reduce modelled per-person emissions.

2. What a suggestion means

The prepared matcher compares the first destination country and overlapping dates. A similar itinerary does not mean the same train, booking or meeting point. You need to confirm those details yourselves.

3. What is shared

Before mutual acceptance, the application shows a broad corridor label, destination country, overlapping dates and a similarity value. Contact details are intended to be shared by introduction email only after both people agree. The email contains the other person’s display name and email address.

The introduction is generated by the system, not a personal review by the team. Even broad travel details may identify someone. Farleda cannot recall delivered emails or information already shared.

4. Code of conduct

  • Treat people respectfully: no harassment, discrimination or threats.
  • No dating, advertising, recruitment or contact harvesting.
  • Share another person’s contact or journey details only with their explicit consent.
  • Use only your own accounts; no automated collection or evasion of blocks.
  • Respect a refusal or withdrawal at any time.

5. Leave, block and report

The prepared application includes controls to disable matching, block individual accounts and submit a report. Blocking prevents further suggestions between the recorded accounts. It cannot recognise every new registration under a different identity.

The matcher considers reports from multiple different accounts and can exclude further suggestions pending review. This is not an automatic finding of fault and does not reliably dissolve existing contacts. You can also contact the team using the address below.

6. Review and retention

Reports need human review. Descriptions, times, involved accounts and the match reference may be stored for this purpose. Necessary safety reports may remain after account deletion; they are not automatically anonymous.

Operational ownership, retention, escalation and application privacy information are reviewed before activation. Continuous real-time moderation or a guaranteed response time is not promised.

7. Make your own meeting decision

  • Independently check the timetable, ticket, meeting place and time.
  • Choose a busy public place for the first meeting.
  • Tell someone you trust about your plans.
  • Do not send identification, payment or login details to other travellers.
  • Leave if you feel uncomfortable. You are not obliged to share any part of a journey.
