Mission 2030
The infrastructure for Europe’s next way to travel.
We want sustainable travel to become an everyday choice. We are building Farleda as a shared technical foundation: understand travel options, compare connections and trace the calculation behind them, across countries and providers.
Our ambition · October 2026
2027
Prove the operation.
Grow from beta into reliable production with railway and infrastructure partners.
Start with a defined corridor, traceable calculations and jointly evaluated pilots. The Passport should make the underlying data and methods traceable over time.
Success means partners can assess value against agreed criteria and decide on continued use.
2028
Connect across borders.
Enable sustainable travel decisions across countries and systems.
Connect multiple European corridors, systematically assess connection and transport data, and develop the multilingual experience.
Success means comparisons remain understandable across corridors, with visible data gaps.
2029
Open the infrastructure.
Make Farleda available wherever people already plan their journeys.
Develop documented interfaces and reusable integrations with partners. Make calculations, data provenance and Passports usable beyond our own interface.
Success means partners can integrate Farleda into their workflows and technically trace its results.
2030
Make sustainable travel the standard.
Build infrastructure with Europe-wide relevance for informed travel decisions.
Connect travellers, railways and infrastructure partners in an open, dependable ecosystem. Evaluate impact using observed decisions and transparent methods.
Success means evidence of better everyday decisions, with measured climate effects and explicit uncertainty.
These milestones describe our ambition. Delivery depends on pilot partnerships, reliable data, technical validation and funding. They do not promise features that are already available.
How we recognise progress
We examine data coverage and error rates, repeat use, integration effort and value for pilot partners. Travel intentions, completed journeys and modelled emissions effects are evaluated separately. Numerical targets will first be validated internally.
The first step starts now.
Open beta from 31 October to 31 December 2026. Alongside it, we are seeking railway and infrastructure partners for clearly scoped pilots. Production target: early 2027, subject to the results.
